TVS NTORQ 125 Latest Updates

Want to buy the sportiest 125cc scooter in India? Well, the TVS NTorq 125 is a great choice. It's also TVS' first 125cc scooter in the country. The NTorq is famous for its peppy performance, and it even has riding modes, which are the first in its category.

TVS NTORQ 125 Key Highlights

Price: The TVS NTorq 125 comes in six variants: the Drum variant’s price is Rs 84,636, and if you prefer the Disc one, its price is Rs 89,091. The Race Edition is priced at Rs 93,141, and the Super Squad Edition costs Rs 95,191. If you're looking for the high-performance Race XP, it's Rs 96,791, and the top-tier Race XT will cost you Rs 1,04,641 (all ex-showroom Delhi).

Design: TVS says NTorq 125 takes inspiration from fighter jets, featuring edgy body panels along with stylish decals, for it is targeted at young buyers. The NTorq 125 features LED headlight on all variants, except for the base ones. The Race XP version comes with an aggressive red scheme, while TVS has even collaborated with Marvel to create special NTorq variants draped in superhero-inspired liveries.

Features: The NTorq 125 is one of the most feature-packed 125cc scooters available right now. The base variants (Drum/Disc) have a cool LCD display that connects to your phone using TVS’ SmartXonnect app. It includes turn-by-turn navigation, a big 22-liter storage with USB charging and light, external fuel filling, LED tail lamp, engine-kill switch, and pass-by function. The Race XP version adds two extra features: voice commands and multiple riding modes that not only change the display theme but also affect the engine performance. The XT variant stands out with an industry-first split (LED-TFT) console, Race Mode theme, lap timer, top speed indicator, 0-60kmph timer, start-stop tech, and a silent starter. It even has a voice assistant for controlling modes, screen brightness, music, and navigation, including a ‘SmartXtrack’ feature for live weather, news, cricket, and social media updates when stationary.

Engine: The TVS NTorq 125 has a single-cylinder, 124.8cc fuel-injected engine that produces 9.38PS and 10.5Nm in the Standard and Race Editions. But in the most powerful variant (Race XP Edition), TVS made some changes, so the same engine produces 10.2PS and 10.8Nm, making it the most powerful 125cc scooter in the country.

Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: The TVS NTorq 125 has a telescopic fork and a monoshock suspension setup. The brakes vary; the more affordable version has a 130mm drum in the front, while you can choose a 220mm front disc as an option. All versions have a 130mm rear drum, and they come with CBS (Combined Braking System) as standard for better safety. The scooter gets 100-section tyres and 12-inch wheels at both ends.

Rivals: TVS Ntorq 125’s rivals are the Aprilia SR125, Yamaha RayZR 125, Suzuki Avenis and Burgman Street 125. In a similar price bracket, the NTorq also takes on the Honda Shine, Hero Super Splendor, and Yamaha Fascino 125.

Variants: The standard drum variant comes in two colours (Metallic Blue & Metallic Grey) and its disc counterpart comes in four shades (Metallic Blue, Metallic Grey, Metallic Red & Matte Red). Race Edition is offered in two colour schemes (Race Edition Red & Race Edition Yellow). Apart from the snazzier colour schemes, it comes with an all-LED headlight, and hazard lamps. The Super Squad Edition gets four colours (Amazing Red, Lightning Gray, Combat Blue & Stealth Black). It’s similar to the Race Edition spec-wise, but comes in Marvel-themed liveries. The sporty Race XP variant comes in a single (Race Red Black) colour. It gets segment-first multiple riding modes along with a few other useful features. The flagship Race XT variant gets two colours (Neon & Marine Blue), and comes with voice-assist, a TFT-LCD combo cluster with weather and social media updates, among others.

TVS NTORQ 125 Pros and Cons

NTORQ 125 Advantages

Motor is powerful and refined, Gets an info-packed digital display with smartphone connectivity, Suspension setup is well-tuned with the right balance between comfort and sportiness

NTORQ 125 Disadvantages

The soft seat isn't appropriate for long rides, Bite and feel from the brakes could’ve been better

NTORQ 125 Expert's Conclusion

If you want a fast, fun and well-equipped scooter, the TVS Ntorq 125 is a great pick. It continues to set the standard for performance in its category, and its sporty look makes it even more attractive. The only downside is its cost, mostly on the higher-end variants.

TVS NTORQ 125 Expert Review

The TVS Ntorq 125 stands out as the fastest scooter from TVS. It comes with cool features like voice-guided navigation, instant social media notifications, live sports scores, and many other clever functions.

Design

The TVS Ntorq 125 looks really cool with its aggressive and sporty design. The sharp body panels, lively colours, and eye-catching graphics all blend together to give this scooter a sporty vibe.

Engine, Mileage & Performance

While the NTorq 125 is a good scooter, the Race XP has grabbed attention for its power. In our tests, the Race XP went from 0 to 60kmph in just 8.07 seconds, over a second faster than the standard NTorq 125. It also hit 80kmph from a standstill, in three seconds quicker than the BS6 NTorq 125.

TVS understood that a high-performance scooter might not always be the most fuel-efficient. So, they made specific changes to the ECU for the Street mode.

Adding the Street mode didn't just keep the Race XP efficient on the highway but also made it even better for city mileage. This is despite the Race XP already performing way better than the regular NTorq. Here are the tested real-world mileage figures for the standard and Race XP variants of the TVS NTorq 125:

Handling & Ride Quality

The TVS NTorq 125 has a solid and stable ride, and is great for handling corners at high speeds, even with two riders. The Race XP variant keeps this quality with the same suspension setup and a bit lighter weight. Along with the wide tyres, this not only makes it easier to handle but also gives the scooter impressive agility. Despite its smooth and easy handling, the NTorq 125 Race XP stays steady even at higher speeds. Plus, the 155mm ground clearance ensures you won't face any problems with rough roads while riding this scooter.

Comfort

The seat comfort on the NTorq 125 has always been great, and it continues with the Race XP model. Even if you're tall, you can sit comfortably with slightly bent elbows, keeping a straight posture. The seat is cushy and provides enough room for both the rider and passenger, unless they're extremely tall. The sloping seat design with the slight change in height between the rider and the pillion helps the rider in staying snug on the seat.

2021 TVS NTorq 125 Race XP Road Test Review

The handlebar is at a good height, though very tall riders might touch their knees during sharp turns. The switches and buttons are high quality and easy to reach. The footboard is wide and long, fitting big riding boots and leaving space for a medium-sized backpack.

One small thing to note is that the rearview mirrors, while sizable, might reflect the rider's elbow for larger riders or those wearing bulky jackets.

Features

The regular NTorq goes beyond the basics on its digital display. It shows important stuff like speed, fuel level, engine temperature, trip meters, and total distance. It even has cool features like a timer for 0-60kmph acceleration and a lap timer with top speed recording. Plus, it's Bluetooth-compatible, giving you personalised welcome messages, call and message alerts, auto-reply for texts, turn-by-turn navigation, and a handy scooter locator.

2021 TVS NTorq 125 Race XP Road Test Review

The Race XP version steps it up with features not common in Indian scooters, whether electric or petrol-powered. You can check after your ride things like distance, time, engine RPM, and average speed. Plus, there's voice assistance that lets you control the mobile app hands-free, making it easy to switch riding modes and activate navigation.

Should You Buy The TVS Ntorq 125?

This TVS NTorq 125 is special because it's the most powerful in the 125cc category. It comes with handy riding modes and connects to Bluetooth through its app, giving you a bunch of features. Plus, it's good on mileage, handles really well, and has reliable brakes, making it almost the perfect sporty scooter. Whether you're riding it to work every day or having weekend fun, the NTorq 125 Race XP in particular, offers both usefulness and excitement.

    Obvious thing

I started riding the TVS Ntorq 125 nearly two years ago and I must say that this has been an amazing experience. In my case, this scooter is not just another mode of transport but rather a reliable companion for my everyday exploits.Turning Heads, Turning CornersThe most obvious thing about Ntorq is its style. It’s a head turner when on the road with sleek design that makes it look like an elegant sporty motorbike. But it goes beyond appearance. The Ntorq navigates city streets like a pro surfer manoeuvring his board through waves. Its weight is well distributed and ergonomics are fine, which makes handling tight bends and passing through the rush hour easy.Fuel Efficiency: A Commuter's DreamThe outstanding fuel efficiency of the Ntorq makes it a winner for me. My car can stretch up to 45–55 kilometers per liter, which offers incredible convenience to any daily commuter who uses public transport. This ends up saving money that would otherwise be spent on fuel at petrol stations.Power Packed PerformanceDo not judge the scooter by its size; otherwise you will be disappointed as it has more than meets the eye. It’s true indeed! While it may appear small, the Ntorq possesses considerably powerful capabilities. Therefore, with its 125 cc engine you will have more than enough power to quickly accelerate out of train jams or traffic gridlocks in general situations where one can’t wait for speed limits priests thinking out loud again in their racing gear coming across from overtaking slower moving vehicles without any difficulties thus remaining ahead

  • Great look but less comfort

I drove this scooter from Nashik to Pune which is more than 200 kms and it performs very well. The scooter look so damn good and it gives great amount of features but not useful for everyday riding. The look is excellent and get bigger wheels with better grips and pickup is superb but focus more on style then comfort. The suspension is good with good braking system but less seating space and no holder for small items.

  • affordable value

The tvs ntorq 125 is a powerful two wheeler model. I got it for an affordable value from a nearby showroom which i think this bike is worth the purchase. It has looks are quite bold and smart, different from that of a normal bike but the functions are more refined, suitable for all purposes. I have the black colour of this model which looks quite amazing. There are many colour options available.
